Who am I?

HPIM1484

Here I am with Kodiak, a wolf-hybrid I met at Glacier National Park, Summer 2012.

There was a star danced, and under that was I born.”

William Shakespeare, Much Ado About Nothing, 2.1

Purely and simply, I’m a girl who loves the written word.   Expression of any kind and the art of storytelling is a source of pure joy and wonder for me. What else about me?  Hmm….I believe in laughter, music, freedom, and fun.  And chocolate.  Lots and lots of chocolate covered anything. Yes,  I know that’s soooo last year but I don’t care “dahlink”.

And…..?

Birthplace:  Toledo, Ohio (but I was an Army brat during Vietnam and we moved all over the place.  Southern California is the place that shaped who I am as a woman.  My 1970’s childhood was filled with an innocent happiness. )

Age:   You get to figure it out, lucky you!  My fifth birthday was the same day as the Lunar landing:  “That’s one small step for man, one…. giant leap for mankind.”

Favorite Animal:  The Hippopotamus (really)

Favorite Music:   Honestly, I love any music that brings people together.  La Pollera Colora’ is an anthem of my Colombian heritage and something I listened to all the time as a child.  Please click to listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5y3lmS0L-co

If I could invite you to dance with me right now it would be to Carlos VivesEl amor de mi tierra

  1. I was twelve when the Eagle landed. I can remember it like it was yesterday. The pinnacle of mankind’s acheivements.

    • Hi there and thank you so much for stopping by.
I try to convey the feeling of electricity in the air (to my students) about the lunar landing and they just cannot comprehend it. But I still try anyway. In fact, I still run outside when the Space Schuttle goes off. I’m going to miss that when the program ends.

    • Hi scentedsummer,

Yes, I am slave to the cocoa bean. It’s an addiction I will never give up. Never! Never I tell you! Ha! Ha! Thank you for you wonderfully sweet comments about my blog. I only just started this in late October and it’s so much fun. I have gotten busy with the holidays but I will be picking up again in January with another story idea I have.

  6. hi! i found you through Yousei Hime (shiteki na usagi) and couldn’t resist asking if you’ve read “But Not The Hippopotamus” by Sandra Boynton…? It’s a lovely little cute book for those who love hippos and fun. Wonderful blog here…

So you went to the peluquera and said to her : “Hair is Kathy!”
